TO SIR, WITH LOVE Film Screening Tribute SIDNEY POITIER

12th March 2022 West Norwood Picturehouse & Library, 1-7 Norwood Road, London SE27 9JU. Time: 6pm – 8pm (Screen 4)

Book tickets: https: //sidneywithlove.eventbrite.co.uk

We’re showing this wonderful film in tribute to the late, pioneering Black actor, director, and humanitarian.

To Sir, With Love, (James Clavell, 1967), is a classic of its time and captures the sights, sentiments, music and culture of sixties London.

Poitier plays a qualified engineer who can’t get a job in that profession (it being the 1960s…), so has to settle for teaching rebellious students at a sink school in London’s east end. Is he out of his depth, or can his mild-mannered ways tame those wild ones?

(Cert. PG, running time: 1hr 45m).

OPTIONAL: fancy dress – dress up in sixties style or school uniform. Best outfit wins a prize!

Early bird tickets available!
